This modern house is situated in an acre of its own grounds located 10 miles inland from the fishing village of Helmsdale on the East Coast of Sutherland.

The Helmsdale River is one of the finest salmon rivers in Scotland and the backdrop to the most prestigious and private playground in the Highlands. The area was one of the bolt holes used by Prince Charles and Lady Di in the 1980’s before their wedding.

100 yards from the cottage the River Helmsdale tumbles over the falls at a famous fishing pool known as Wood Pool. Wood Pool is the local name for the house.

The cottage is rented out year round. Rental periods are generally a week but a month is common, Sunday to Sunday, Short breaks are welcome. Linen is provided as an extra. Low season £400. High season £490 (mid June, July, August)
